Lift Off! 2025

Well, hello 2025! You appeared out of nowhere… it doesn’t really feel like a whole year has passed since New Year’s Day 2024 but here we are, and here you are.

I haven’t been a rebel for long so this is my first quarterly badge. I’m not sure if I’m approaching it with the best frame of mind- January isn’t my favourite month. How do people actually do Dry January? Surely it’s the one month when a drink might actually be needed!?! I mean, it’s got about a million days! Anyway, it’s time for Lift Off!

My six chosen badges to complete in 2025 are:

Writer (Creative)

Animal Lover (Global)

Baker (Grown Up)

My Brand (Self Aware)

Good Habits (Wellness)

Codebreaker (Wild)

Of these, I’ve started Good Habits and I’m hoping to complete it this quarter along with either Animal Lover or My Brand.

For the second clause I am going to do Craft part one and Advanced Craft. I currently only have book volume one, so I’ll have to wait until I have volume two to start the advanced part.

More Time Outdoors 2025 is my chosen annual badge, I was going to try more than one but I’m being realistic. Target-wise I think I’m going to aim for 365 hours, anything over that is going to be great. I don’t spend an awful lot of time outside on a working day, so I’m going to try to change that by taking a few tea and lunch breaks outside while I’m at work. And when the weather improves a little (and the chairs are back outside) I’m going to try to have my morning coffee in the garden.

The vision board for 2025 encompasses a few things I’d like to achieve this year as a rebel and three general goals for the year. Plus saving for and going on my trip to Las Vegas to see NKOTB!

1) Spend more time with friends and family- with family I’m going to make more of an effort to be the one who initiates a catch up. And with friends, I’m going to try not to say no straight away or back out of events. This will be hard, I don’t like large groups and I find it hard to engage in meaningful conversation when it’s loud. I like being at home or in very small gatherings. And I WILL go to the Leicestershire Rebellion and make new friends!

2) Complete craft projects I’ve already begun and use up my stash of fabrics before buying more (or at least a decent chunk of them, who am I kidding!) If I had a longer lunch break at work I could take my EPP to do there but it isn’t doable at present. I’m going to try to have an hour of crafting per week, either at home or with friends or craft group when it restarts in March.

3) Become more mindful in everyday life, by trying:
Meditation/breathing exercises
A gratitude journal
To spend more time outdoors

I’ve started to journal… I don’t really know how so I took a look on the Rebel Facebook page and saw that someone had tried this one. I'm only a week in but it seems like a nice thing to do.

Well, that’s my 2025 set for Lift Off! I’ll do my best and hope it doesn’t crash and burn up on re-entry!

Happy New Year.

Take care,

E x
